Fresh strawberries possible; also possible add 1 c. nuts. Original recipe I can't find online anymore called for 1 10 oz. package of strawberries, not two. Also can sub in some applesauce for some of the vegetable oil.
Sub canned salmon for fresh and skip cooking in milk. Skip bread crumbs. Just realizing now that I always put this in a pie crust but it's not called for in the recipe. Serve with muffins or a mixed greens salad.
From Cook's Illustrated. Serve with bread and a salad if you're truly ambitious; if not, the amount of lasagna and vegetables involved make it more than filling.
